Beginning in December, we bring 'broodstock' hard clams into our hatchery where they are conditioned to spawn by controlling the water temperature. By February and March the clams have spawned and the new generation of clams are washed and fed high protein algae on a daily basis. Once the clams have reached a certain size in the hatcheries upwelling tanks, they are taken out to our grounds in Hog Island Bay where they are tended and cared for until they have reached the size that the market desires.
We have the following sizes of Hard Clams available:
-Seed (approximately 3mm - 12mm)
-Little Necks, Top Necks
